solar pool heating

Do you wish to swim in your pool for a much longer period than you are now able to? Have you been dismayed by the running costs and environmental impact of conventional pool heating methods? Take a look at the alternative, a solar pool heating system that will bring your pool up to a comfortable swimming temperature for an extended season and is the same colour as your tiled roof.

Do you rent out your villa? Get ahead of the competition and advertise the fact that your property comes with a heated swimming pool. With the ability to extend the letting season and increase the rental charge, not only have you improved the comfort factor of your pool, you have started getting a financial return on it immediately at a fraction of the installation and running costs of an electric or gas heated pool.

the product

Solar in Spain is the licensed importer, distributor and installer of Heliocol along the Spanish Mediterranean Coast. The Heliocol swimming pool system is the best solar pool heating system available on the market. In production since 1975, Heliocol is the largest manufacturer of pool heating systems in the world. The Heliocol system was chosen to heat the swimming pools of the 1996 and 2004 Olympic Games. It offers excellent value for money and will ensure you and your family enjoy an extended swimming season without the high costs associated with conventional heat pumps. No heat pump can match the Heliocol solar system on performance, price, running costs and life expectancy.

Heliocol panels come in 2 colours, black and terracotta. These can be blended onto your roof or form part of a car port or pergola.

Thanks to our unique colours and design adaptability you won’t even notice it’s there!!  You’ll be wondering why you waited so long…

how does it work?

Pool water is pumped to the solar collectors, entering at the bottom and rising to the top through the individual tubes of the collector. As the water flows through the individual tubes of the collector it is heated by the sun's radiant energy. The water then returns to the pool. This cycle is repeated until the pool is sufficiently warmed by the sun. This process is fully automated using a temperature differential controller and thermostats. Solar in Spain recommend that a separate pump is used for the solar pool heating system. In this way, there is no conflict between the activities of heating and filtering and less strain is placed on the pump to achieve both jobs.

When combined with a pool cover high temperatures are maintained even longer, protecting the pool from the effect of wind and cooler night time temperatures. Pool covers provided by Solar in Spain sit on the pool surface and are easily put away with a roller.
